CACC’s Rebrand: Our New Identity & What It Means for the Community!

Where We Started & Where We're Going!

In 2015, what started as a simple WhatsApp group quickly transformed into a movement for Africans in Colorado. The Colorado African Cultural Center (CACC) was born out of a need to connect, support, and celebrate our heritage.

From our first cultural event in 2016 to launching the iconic Dashiki Festival, we built a home for African culture in Colorado. Over the years, we hosted major events featuring renowned artists, celebrated diverse African cultures, and provided a sense of belonging to many.

However, as our community grew, so did our vision. We realized that culture alone was not enough. Our people needed opportunities, skills, and economic empowerment. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this realization, pushing us to pivot towards career development, business mentorship, and tech education.

Now, in 2025, it’s time for a new chapter.

Why We Are Rebranding & What It Means for You!

The transformation of CACC into the Colorado African Innovation and Cultural Center (CAICC) is more than just a name change—it reflects our expanded mission. While cultural celebration remains at our core, we are now equally focused on innovation, education, and economic empowerment.

What This Means for the Community

    • STEM Initiatives: Programs designed to spark interest and develop skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, preparing youth for future careers in these fields. This includes hands on activities and workshops.

    • Leadership Development: Opportunities for youth to develop leadership skills through workshops, community projects, and participation in center activities.

    • Educational Support: Programs designed to support the academic success of youth.

  • Vibrant Cultural Preservation & Community Building:

    • Cultural Festivals & Events: CAICC organizes events that celebrate and showcase the rich diversity of African cultures through music, dance, art, food, and storytelling via the annual Dashiki Festival.

    • Cultural Education: Programs that promote understanding and appreciation of African history, traditions, and contemporary issues.

    • Art Exhibitions: Showcasing the work of African artists, promoting cultural exchange and artistic expression.

This rebrand signifies that CAICC is not just a cultural hub—it is an engine for success, innovation, and long-term impact.
